Pollitt SOFA Chicago Lecture

Countdown to Pollitt SOFA Chicago Lecture & Catalog appearance

Six days until the opening of SOFA 2014 and a Pollitt SOFA Chicago lecture and image in the catalog.

Well attended SOFA Chicago Opening Night in Exhibit Hall of Navy Pier

My anticipation grows like a kid awaiting Christmas. I’m looking forward to Thursday’s Opening Night, November 6th.  That’s in less than a week!  I’ll be walking into the sprawling Navy Pier Exhibit Hall and don’t even have to close my eyes to see the scene.  70 galleries from 14 countries set up to represent the finest contemporary sculptural works in the world.  A couple thousand people dressed in their finery, catered to by tuxedo-clad servers providing food and drink.  It’s an event unlike any other in my experience.[clear]

Midnight Moves, glass sculpture, to be part of Pollitt SOFA Chicago Lecture and featured in the SOFA 2014 catalog.
Midnight Moves

This will be my ninth year participating in this premier, international art show.  It’s a heady, grand spectacle. And this year marks two important “firsts” for me – the first time a full-page image of one of my sculptures, Midnight Moves, will appear in the SOFA catalog.  And it’s the first time I’ve been selected to be part of the SOFA Lecture Series.  I’ll present an hour-long lecture with Q&A about my work and artistic journey.  Transition From Wood to Glass, Saturday, November 8, 1 – 2 pm in Room 327.

Please join me if you can.  I’ll be in the Thomas R. Riley exhibit space with five of my sculptures.
