The sculpture with no name

There are two reasons I do not title a work. First, because I can’t come up with a good name and, second, because I don’t want to influence the viewers mental and visual exploration. My reason for this piece was the latter!

Chechen is an exotic, South American hardwood, but this tree was grown on a tree plantation in Brazil.

Trees in the plantation are harvested young and the available boards are always quite narrow.

The board that this piece came from was a bit over 6’0″ long x 5″ wide.

I cut it in thirds and edge-glued it into the dimensions you see. We can still enjoy the beauty of these woods and be eco friendly.
