Pollitt’s unsurpassable Artist Residency at Buffalo Creek

Experience of a lifetime. I am spoiled forever.

I can’t imagine anything that could surpass my first ever Artist Residency at Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV.

Before I got there, photos of the Center were so wonderful, they heighten my anticipation. But the adjectives and superlatives ran out when I passed through the gate of their 34-acre property on June 1, 2018. This was to be my home for the next six weeks???

The place is about the experience! It is a setting unlike anything I could have envisioned. Magical grounds, spacious and comfortable living accommodations, large  airy work space with great views. And a staff truly interested in my comfort and providing an uninterrupted creative environment.

These photos cannot come close to capturing the beauty here. They also cannot convey the incredible experience of this adventure

New work. New directions.

These waxes in progress are the three new pieces I created while at Buffalo Creek. They open new directions for my work. As they make their way through the foundry and back to my bench for completion, I’ll add updated images to my Works In Progress page.

Extend my gratitude

Part of me will always be there and I extend my gratitude to Steve and Lana, owners of the facility, for their devotion to art.  Their creation of Artist Residency at Buffalo Creek Art Center allows we sculptors to “play” on their magical property. And a special thanks to Mel and Bill for their thoughtfulness, attention and friendship.
