Glass art collectors group visits Pollitt Studio

Pollitt Studio hosts glass art collectors from California, GLANC

Last Thursday, Pollitt Studio hosted 33 members of Glass Alliance of Northern California, aka GLANC.  They are a chapter of Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass, aka AACG, a great professional association whose members are glass art collectors, devotees, gallery owners and artists.

And 33 doesn’t sound like many people…until they were all inside!  But it worked out so well.  They graced our home, enjoyed the Santa Fe historic adobe architecture, and walked through asking questions about my glass sculptures and wood art.  I have to admit, I loved the “ooohs” and “aaahs.”  T’was, indeed, music to my artist ears!

Then we divide into two groups — the lunch bunch and the studio visitors — and rotated, like in a volleyball game.

These photos only begin to  show what a good time we all had.  Gaye and I want to thank Glass Alliance of Northern California,  again, for their time, graciousness and interest in my work.  And a special thanks to Susan Longini, their fearless leader and President, for organizing this ambitious trip.

Now, I wouldn’t want you to think that GLANC came all this way just to visit me.  But I was sure honored to be included on their five-day excursion to visit glass art studios, collectors and galleries between Santa Fe and Taos.
