Small Treasures. Simpler complexity.

Introducing Pollitt Studio Small Treasures

Here are five new works.  As a group, I’ve named them Pollitt Studio Small Treasures.  An oxymoron of simpler complexity!

It wasn’t easy thinking smaller.  Smaller, but still capturing my style.  My style, while not getting overly complex in small space. Didn’t want them too complicated for the viewer’s eye.  (Didn’t want them too double-backed and curvaceous…too many intersections for my big fingers to sand!)

It gave me liberty to experiment with colors and finishes, too.  Take Sapphire Rose, for example.  (Now there’s an oxymoron.  Do sapphires really come in rose color?)  Actually, Sapphire Rose is full of surprises.  Watch this space for future images.

All in all, it was a challenge.  But I feel the effort was worth it.

Let me know what you think.

Five Pollitt Studio Small Treasures gathered in a single photo. Each is a different jewel color with descriptive names. Left-to-right. FANTASIA is Pale Copper Blue. E RIDE is Fushsia. MAINSAIL is Apricot. CAPTIVA is Sapphire Rose. The last sculpture, called GREEN PIECE is Emerald Green.
