Infinity Rising : My design intent for this highly figured redwood sculpture was to strike a good balance between positive and negative space. To capture its figurative elements and impart a sense of organic life.

Morph VI : The lines, movement and proportions just worked so well together. This was another difficult piece to visualize and execute. A real fun challenge.

Monument Mesa : It was a lot of fun for me working this piece – taking the natural formation and imparting sweeping undulations in opposition.

Passages into the Void : When most artists talk about partnering with the work, this is what they mean. And this piece reminds me of that other dimension or realm. There are endless access points or routes to get from the outside to the inside or from one side to the other.

Wave Length : Ordinarily my work is done in complete isolation. Now, all of a sudden, I was setting up a temporary studio in a corner of a custom furniture company in a foreign country.

Romancing the Stone : This Rhododendron root burl so tenaciously cradled that piece of granite, I had no other option when I sculpted the piece than to honor their 30+ year relationship.

Flug Ober Muotatal : The negative space nearly equals the positive. My intention was to give an overall sense of flight, using the upswept delta, as if a bird was standing with its wings raised upward.
