TREASURE

FUCHSIA

10″ H, 3″ Dia.

COLLECTED

Treasure

A couple of years ago, I was approached about a possible commission to create a series of cast glass sculpture “awards.” They were to be handed out annually at a prestigious international ceremony to the winners.  I became engrossed by the idea.  It also triggered my interest in creating works in smaller scale.

The contract did not go to fruition.  But a number of pieces were near completion.  Good ideas should never go to waste.  So I proceeded.   As I was getting ready to caste the first group in glass, I offered my wife, Gaye, first choice. …and suggested that she select the color.

This is now her small Treasure. I am delighted to give it to her in honor of all her support, encouragement, dedication, long-suffering and love.
