The swirls and dark-edged hyacinth-color of this Pollitt sculpture suggested its ethereal name - Aura.

Aura

A hyacinth color and dark edging produced by natural light gives this Pollitt Small Treasure the look of an aura. The 12” x 4”dia glass sculpture delivers quiet, but powerful drama.

A pale cooper blue glass sculpture joins the Pollitt Small Treasures ensemble.

Fantasia

Gentle curves in pale copper blue glass twist unexpectedly – and thus define sculptor Harry Pollitt’s distinctive style. Named Fantasia, the 1′-3″ sculpture joins the Pollitt Small Treasures ensemble.

Harry Pollitt - Zest glass sculpture

Zest

ZEST LEMON YELLOW 12″ H, 4″ Dia. COLLECTED Zest Zest was inspired by my first-ever combination wood and glass sculpture, entitled Genesis. The inner section was a wood sculpture. I liked the minimalized surface areas and structure. But since I never duplicate a piece, I modified the wood design and had a go at it …

Harry Pollitt - 10" high glass sculpture in purple

Treasure

TREASURE FUCHSIA 10″ H, 3″ Dia. COLLECTED Treasure A couple of years ago, I was approached about a possible commission to create a series of cast glass sculpture “awards.” They were to be handed out annually at a prestigious international ceremony to the winners.  I became engrossed by the idea.  It also triggered my interest in creating works …

Harry Pollitt - Bashert glass sculpture

Bashert

Harry Pollitt’s latest sculpture is aptly named, Bashert. Improbable events and unexpected results surround the story of this kiln cast glass sculpture. The best explanation is that it was “meant to be.” Come read why.

Adagio

Adagio: Is a symphonic movement played slowly. It is also a ballet movement that is about fluidity and grace.

Adagio | 12″ h, 7″ diameter | Kiln cast crystal | Copper Blue | SOLD

Shape Shifter

Shape Shifter : In previous glass pieces, I utilized the basic form – inside outside curved lines and planes. But, here, for the first time, I incorporated diverging lines. Lines that heretofore I had only used in my wood wall sculptures.

Shape Shifter | 7″ h, 12″ diameter | Kiln cast dichroic crystal | Hyacinth | SOLD to Private Collection.

Cascade

Cascade: Remember Orangesicles from your childhood? I was trying to capture the feeling of orange ice warming in the Summer sun and slumping – or, well, cascading down.

Cascade | 1′-6″ h, 10″ diameter | Kiln cast crystal | Apricot | SOLD to Private Collection.

Midnight Moves

Midnight Moves: The most difficult sculptural glass I’ve completed to date. And the most difficult to cast. And yet, the degree of difficulty plays an integral role in the moodiness and depth created by the dark orange red glass.

Midnight Moves | 1′-7″ h, 10″ diameter | Kiln cast crystal | Dark Orange Red | SOLD to Private Collector.

Blue Pyro

This is the first public appearance of my piece, Blue Pryo. Sold before leaving my studio. Come read the story of why I say this business of glass art design can be a precarious endeavor…and why I love it for that reason!
